Four striking pieces of furniture created by set designer, Gary McCann, have gone on display in the Service Wing at Felbrigg Hall. Throughout 2018 these Curious Cabinets will showcase previously unseen objects collected by the colourful characters, whose exotic travels and wild interests have shaped this family home. Details

Until Oct 28 - The Word Defiant! at Blickling Hall

The Word Defiant! is a series of installations throughout the Jacobean mansion and out to the garden Temple that reveal stories of books that have been banned, burned, redacted, drowned, neglected and superseded, with each linked to the theme of books under threat. Les Enfants Terribles use sound, theatrical design and storytelling to examine the importance of books, and prompt debate about the threat posed to them and their place in a changing world. Details

Until Oct 14 - Brian Clarke: The Art of Light at Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts

The Sainsbury Centre will stage a spectacular exhibition across the building exploring the stained glass of Brian Clarke. Clarke is celebrated as the greatest stained glass artist in the world today and has collaborated globally with the most radical architects of our time. Details

Until Sept 23 - The Paston Treasure: Riches and Rarities of the Known World, Norwich Castle

Norwich Castle, in collaboration with Yale Center for British Art, is staging a major exhibition which takes the extraordinary painting, The Paston Treasure (c. 1663-5), as its starting point. Gathering together some of the depicted treasures in this mysterious painting for the first time in three centuries, the exhibition explores the world of the Paston family and their magnificent collections once held at Oxnead Hall in Norfolk. Sept 23 - Soap Box Derby at Hunstanton

The revival of the Hunstanton Soap Box Derby continues! Last year’s re-introduction of the event (popular in the 1960s, 70s and 80s) received a marvellous response. It had 40 entries and was a super day for all the family, whether racing or spectating. Why not build your own kart to race in this year’s event and join in the fun? Details
