Many people visit Norfolk for the seaside but we have the Broads National Park as well to offer opportunities to get out on the water in tranquil settings with lots of opportunities to spot wildlife, from birds to otters and water voles.

On the River Waveney, which separates Norfolk from Suffolk, there’s day boat, paddleboard and canoe and kayaking with Three Rivers and Hippersons. Head south through Beccles to the lovely Locks Inn at Geldeston or head north and visit the wonderful Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve. At Oulton Broad there’s Waveney River Tours and Day Boats.

There’s day boat hire in the heart of the Broads at Barnes Brinkcraft and Martham Ferry Day Boat Hire and canoe hire and tours with The Canoe Man.

For the paddleboard novice, Norfolk Paddle Adventure is the place to learn and if you want to experience the history of the Broads, groups can do a Wherry Yacht Charter.

If fishing is your way to get close to nature, try Billingford Fishing Lakes and Country Park.
