Celebrate summer with outdoor theatre at the Oxburgh Hall

Make the most of the balmy summer weather and extra hours of daylight to enjoy alfresco entertainment at Oxburgh Hall, near Swaffham in Norfolk. Pack up a picnic hamper and bring along your family and friends to The Three Inch Fools’ new production, The Gunpowder Plot.

Much like a touring troupe in Shakespearean times, the Fools will once again take to the road this summer with little more than their costumes, props, and instruments, bringing lively and irreverent productions to every corner of Great Britain, including Oxburgh Hall.

Just pick your patch of grass, sit back, and enjoy the fresh air and historic surroundings of Oxburgh Hall. Now free from scaffolding for the first time in six years, following the ambitious roof restoration project, ‘Raise the Roof’, the dramatic backdrop of Oxburgh Hall provides the perfect setting for an evening of open-air theatre.

Witness the infamous moment in British history as The Gunpowder Plot comes to life in a brand new, calamitous production, fit for all the family. Expect uproarious intrigue, endless costume changes, and many, many false moustaches in this highly flammable historical tale.

Three Inch Fools Co-Founder James Hyde said: “After an uncertain two years, we are all excited to get back on the road again and bring our unique production of The Gunpowder Plot to audiences at Oxburgh Hall. In keeping with our love for British history, we decided to take a new look at the traditional tale, and we look forward to surprising our audiences with a different take on a story they think they know.”

The Gunpowder Plot is showing at Oxburgh Hall on Saturday 3 September, 7pm-9.30pm. Booking essential. Book your tickets here
