Wells Pirate festival

Aha, me hearties! It’s Wells Pirate Festival in September, a three day pirate party filled with buccaneers, scallywags and salty sea dogs with pirate activities and events for the whole family.

Wells Pirate Festival is the annual fundraiser for Wells Maltings Trust which is fundraising to transform the Maltings building in Wells into an exciting new arts, heritage and community facility. Grab your cutlass and set sail towards Wells - join in the pirate fun and help raise some much needed doubloons.

To get yourself in the mood, make a playlist to sing in the car as you're going along - and do it Gangplank Style...

Madness – Ya-hah House

Lesley Gore - It's me hearties and I'll cry if I want to

Van Morrison - Have I told you matey that I love you

The Beatles - I want to hold your hook

Aqua - I'm a Barbary girl in a Barbary world

Stevie Wonder - I just called to say, 'Ya-hah!'

The Beatles - Blackbeard singing in the rain

Bruce Springsteen - Born to rum

Englebert Humperdink - Please release Smee
