Discover walks fit for a Queen with brand new routes through the heart of Royal west Norfolk

Explore more than 100 miles of stunning Norfolk countryside with a free book of walks around north-west Norfolk.

Each of the 16 routes, set in and around the Sandringham estate and along the coast, is specifically designed to help people explore the wealth of cultural heritage, history and natural beauty across north-west Norfolk.

Discover the vast royal estates of Sandringham and Anmer; and walk in the footsteps of famous local names including Admiral Lord Nelson, the Queen, and Sir Robert Walpole the first Prime Minister of Britain.

The 112 pages are also packed with places of interest such as cafes and places to stay as well as everything you need to know about bus routes and parking.

“West Norfolk’s Coastal Treasures” has been written and produced by Norfolk County Council’s Norfolk Trails team in collaboration with Norfolk Museums Service, and features contributions from Achaeology East Anglia and The Nelson Society.

Oliver Bone, Curator at Norfolk Museums Service, said: “The rich tapestry of north-west Norfolk’s cultural history is brought to life in the book through 44 different stories. We would love for people to walk the routes themselves whilst finding out about the fascinating people and places along them.”

Coastal Treasures is a partnership project between Norfolk Trails and Norfolk Museums Service to establish a series of circular waymarked walks and cycle tours throughout north-west Norfolk.
