Seething Restored WW2 Control Tower

In light of COVID-19, please make sure you check with your travel and accommodation providers before travelling.

The memorial museum is housed in the control tower and the adjacent nissen hut and this is run and cared for by Station 146 Tower Association. Displays in the buildings include uniforms and equipment from the war time period and information on the airfield and operations of the 448th Bombardment Group (Heavy). In addition various remains subsequently recovered since that time, aviation models and a growing collection of WW2 civilian artefacts from the local area. It also contains the 448th Bombardment Group (Heavy) collection covering original photographs and the stories of many of the airmen.

The 448th Bombardment Group (Heavy) roll of honour remembering those who lost their lives is house in the building together with a small remembrance room. On open days the flag of the United States of America is flown above the outside memorial.

During the summer open season light refreshments and drinks are available and Station 146 Tower Association members are on hand to explain individual exhibits and listening to visitors' experiences.

Groups can be shown around at other times by special arrangement.
