The visitor centre next to the mill contains exhibitions on the development of drainage mills and the restoration of Hardley Mill. Light refreshments are also available to purchase.
Access by foot via the improved riverside path from Hardley Staithe (25-30 min walk). Footpath opening mid May 2013.
Access from the Yare using the mooring at the mill site. This mooring is free to use during the day. There is a £5.00 fee for overnight mooring. There is electricity hook up but no water supply or waste disposal facilities.

There is no vehicle access to the mill for members of the public.
Opening details
Opening times during the week is on an ad-hoc basis. If the sails are turning, then the mill should be accessible to visitors. Occasionally though, ongoing work inside the mill may mean that access is limited.
Larger groups can be accommodated by prior arrangement.
Open Saturdays and Sundays from 4th May to 29th September.
