Afternoon Talk: Thomas Clarkson's Campaign Chest.

Thomas Clarkson’s campaign chest was an illustrative accompaniment to his abolitionist lectures across the Country and played a pivotal role in the Privy Council enquiry into the slave trade. Today, it is housed in Wisbech and Fenland Museum, and Project Officer Sarah Coleman will discuss how it conveys a visual representation of the abolition campaign and the lengths Clarkson went to in his work. Booking required.
