Pond dipping at Cley

Pond dipping at Cley

Bird Therapy is a writing project exploring the therapeutic benefits of birdwatching for people experiencing difficulties with their mental health. Joe Harkness has been writing about this topic for three years now, both as a blog and also as a book. Joe addresses his own personal experience, talking about how our environment can help us with our wellbeing; and how the experience of being outdoors can be reinvigorating and uplifting. Joe explores many elements, including birdsong, mindfulness and noticing the hidden wonders found in our avifauna.
His book on the subject, titled ‘Bird Therapy’, will be published in the summer of 2019, following a successful crowdfunding campaign through the publisher ‘Unbound’. The book will feature a foreword from Chris Packham and counts Bill Bailey as a patron.
