From the UK's largest Christmas show the Thursford Spectacular, to NORWICHRISTMAS celebrations, there's something for everyone. And don't forget the speciality festive shopping, Christmas Tree Festivals, historic Christmas markets and traditional pantomimes which all add to Norfolk's seasonal mix and add some festive glitz to your short break or day out.

Stunning Shows

The Thursford Collection hosts the Thursford Christmas Spectacular - simply one of the most exciting Christmas Spectacular shows ever. It is the most popular Christmas show of all time in England and is a blend of exciting Christmas entertainment, with Christmas songs, carols, dazzling dancers, beautiful costumes, outstanding music and singing from our cast of over one hundred. Book early as the shows sell out fast! The Thursford Collection also hosts Santa's Magical Journey, a special children's Christmas magical journey through a fantasy wonderland to see Father Christmas.

Or try Cromer Pier Pavilion Theatre's Christmas Seaside Special or Great Yarmouth Hippodrome Theatre's Christmas Spectacular, featuring its unique water spectacular.

Yuletide Trips & Trails

Then there are the wonderful Santa Specials on the county's heritage railways - take a trip through stunning winter scenery whilst enjoying a festive drink or mince pie. The Bure Valley Railway, North Norfolk Railway (Poppy Line) and Mid-Norfolk Railway all run special services, and Broads Tours offer special Santa Cruises on the Norfolk Broads.

Norwich will be bursting with Christmas spirit from mid November. Not to be missed is the Christmas lights switch-on and festivities for NORWICHRISTMAS all around the city, including Christmas markets, festive shopping and special events.

Why not enjoy the Festive Heritage Trail whilst doing a spot of last minute gift shopping, put together by HEART. The festively themed trail is packed with quirky anecdotes and Christmas facts, and covers many of the buildings which are part Norwich 12, the city's collection of its finest heritage buildings. Festive Events

Take in a seasonal treat with one of the county's show stopping pantomimes, whether at Norwich Theatre Royal, Sheringham Little Theatre or the Princess Theatre, Hunstanton.

Or be dazzled by one of the many Christmas Tree Festivals that take place across Norfolk's towns and villages - Dickleburgh, Fakenham and Dersingham all run annual celebrations.

Norwich has bags of festive celebrations and events throughout the city, including the annual lights switch on with plenty of entertainment and festive fayre as part of the NORWICHRISTMAS activities. Or really get into the festive spirit with Advent Carol Services at both Norwich Cathedral and St. John's Roman Catholic Cathedral.

Seasonal Shopping

Enjoy the magical Christmas lights of Norfolk's traditional market towns whilst perusing speciality independent shops for those perfect presents.

Holt is a treasure trove of quirky independents, and is brimming over with many interesting antique, arts and crafts and gift shops. Make sure you take a trip to Bakers and Larners, East Anglia's answer to Fortnum & Mason, and call in at Byford's for a bite to eat and to rest your feet!

Norwich is ranked in the top 10 UK shopping destinations, and as well as high street shops and two shopping centres, The Mall and Chapelfield, it offers specialist boutiques along The Lanes, the buzz of the market and quaint tranquil streets all festooned with delicate lights - Norwich is a shopper's paradise!

And make sure you take in some of the festive delights in wonderful surroundings - typical events each year include the Medieval Christmas Market at Dragon Hall or the Historic Christmas Fayre at the Norwich Cathedral, and even a Polish Christmas Market at St. John's Roman Catholic Cathedral - you'll be spoilt for choice!
