Norfolk receives the highest volume and value of domestic visitors, with Cambridgeshire topping the table in terms of overseas visits and spend, according to the latest statistics from East of England Tourism. The sector is worth around £5.3 billion per year to the East of England’s economy and employs 185,000 people, at last count this translates to 47,000 in Norfolk.
With 13 million staying visits, the East of England – Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk – is fifth in the league of the nine English regions for staying visits.
In percentage terms, Norfolk has a 25% share, followed by Essex (21%), Cambridgeshire (18%) Suffolk (14%), Hertfordshire (13%) and Bedfordshire (8%). |

Broadland
Broadland Council has created six guides spotlighting the district’s unique collection of churches. Discovering Broadland’s Churches cover the length and breadth of Broadland from Reedham to Foulsham and give the visitor a suitable route and information to experience between 4 and 6 of these beautiful churches in a day.
The series has been revamped to include the best of history and heritage in Broadland. Visitors will discover hidden gems, unusual stories, fascinating architecture, and historic insights into how mediaeval and victorian riches shaped these incredible buildings.

Greater Yarmouth
On Sunday 25 October, The East Coast 10km run takes place in Great Yarmouth, attracting serious running competitors and first time runners. Starting from St. George’s Park at 10.30am, an entry form is available on the Great Yarmouth Road Runners website at www.gyrr.co.uk. |
