TripAdvisor, Norfolk TourismWe’ve recently secured a homepage Spotlight Destination feature on the popular travel advice sharing website www.tripadvisor.co.uk, enabling us to promote Norfolk to more potential holidaymakers.

The rotating Spotlight Destination panel highlights the diversity on offer in Norfolk, from coast to countryside, city to Broads, wildlife to shopping and more, and also provides a link through to www.visitnorfolk.co.uk.
Top of the charts for Visit Norfolk
Visit Norfolk continues to enjoy increasing visitor numbers, thanks to work to ensure we remain prominent in the search engine results, and constantly updating and refreshing content.

2008 saw an overall increase in unique visitors of 7% from 2007, and 2009 continues apace with an increase of 22%!

We’re also top of the charts for the search term ‘Norfolk’ and for a whole host of other search keywords for holidaying in Norfolk. We’ve recently been focusing on Search Engine Optimisation work for Norfolk’s key towns to ensure our visibility to consumers, which in tern will enhance our client’s listings.
Raise your profile on Visit Norfolk
If you’d like to increase your presence on Visit Norfolk, why not consider a banner advertisement? We can offer tailored packages, work with you on a timed campaign, or why not try a starter banner from £65 + VAT per year. Take a look at the 2009 Rate Card PDF for more information.

You can now also upgrade to a Flash banner for that extra visibility – make sure you stand out from the crowd with your stunning imagery and a banner that’s twice the length of others, for only an extra £30. There are limited spaces for Flash banners so get in touch now to find out more.

And if you’re not yet on board with Visit Norfolk with an accommodation or places to visit listing, take a moment to find out the benefits of advertising with us!
Tweet tweet – Twitter and more
As well as our TripAdvisor Spotlight Destination feature, we are making sure Norfolk is promoted via various social networking and social media routes, including Twitter and Facebook.

If you’re unsure of this online revolution and how your business can benefit, come along to the Norfolk Tourism Annual Review and join in the Social Media at Your Fingertips workshop.

Our social media goals are to aid interaction with new audiences, further promotion of Norfolk and the Visit Norfolk brand, and signposting back to www.visitnorfolk.co.uk to drive increased traffic. We regularly promote relevant news stories, events, special offers from accommodation and attractions clients and more.

However, an increasing and important element is networking itself. Our presence on Twitter has recently led to a forthcoming Norfolk holiday feature and competition in Prize Magazine, with others to follow.
www.visitnorfolk.co.uk – the next generation
We are currently planning the next stage for www.visitnorfolk.co.uk – a new enhanced site that will be an industry-leading destination website with streamlined navigation, added functionality, improved search capabilities and interactive content.

Through the regional Destination Management System (DMS), the site will provide on-line availability and bookability for accommodation and comprehensive, easily searchable databases for attractions, events, eating out and other facilities. Watch this space for an update!
