The new team is headed by Lydia Smith, Norfolk Tourism Team Manager. Virginia Edwards, manager of the Norwich and Norfolk Conference Bureau transferred from VisitNorwich Offices to co-locate with Norfolk Tourism in March and the work of both organisations is currently being integrated.

The two newest faces are those of Jan Robertson who joins the team as Websites and e-Marketing Officer and Louisa Loader as Administrator. You can read a bit more about them below.

Both organisations have commissioned Rosie Kitchen of PRActive to sell listings and banner advertisements on www.visitnorfolk.co.uk, www.conferencenorfolk.co.uk and www.norfolkweddingdirectory.co.uk.
Chairman's comment on the new Tourism Team
Michael Timewell, Norfolk Tourism Chairman said: “Our new team, working with our 50 plus partner organisations, is well placed to capitalise on the very positive publicity we have had this year. People are really waking up to this fantastic county and our new strategy will ensure that Norfolk’s tourism industry is best placed to meet the current economic challenges ahead.”
Jan Robertson - Websites and e-Marketing Officer
Hi, I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and say how much I am looking forward to working with all of you to help promote Norfolk to a wider audience.

I'm one of the many ex-UEA students who couldn't escape the mysterious pull of the region and, despite a move back up north to undertake an MA, I was drawn back to Norwich.

My previous employment was as Programme & Marketing Co-ordinator at Norwich Arts Centre (a multi-arts venue on St. Benedict’s Street, Norwich), where I was in charge of all the digital and print marketing, as well as press and communications.

I am relishing the chance to concentrate on one particular aspect of marketing and look forward to maintaining and enhancing the success of www.visitnorfolk.co.uk, www.conferencenorfolk.co.uk and www.norfolkweddingdirectory.co.uk.

Louisa Loader - Tourism Team Administrator
Hello there, being a local person I am very proud to help promote Norfolk to all potential visitors out there. I was born and raised in Norwich and I have a huge appreciation for this magnificent area.

I started working life as an trainee accountant with Larking Gowen and later worked in the finance office at The Florida Group Ltd, one of the last remaining Shoe Factories in Norwich. I've been involved with administration and finance at other local organisations over the past 11 years and so I enjoy the diversity of tasks the Norfolk Tourism Administrator performs.

I am also a Guider working with Girl Guides aged between 10 and 14 in Norwich, which I find extremely rewarding, and I'm currently training towards my adult leadership qualification. As a member of the Norfolk Tourism Team I am really looking forward to working with you all.

You can reach me on louisa.loader@visit.norfolk.gov.uk 01603 222846.
Norwich and Norfolk Conference Bureau
Since it began in July 2005, NNCB has attracted almost 400 enquiries potentially worth £2.8m to Norfolk. Spring saw the relocation of the Bureau into the offices of Norfolk Tourism at County Hall.

Since the move the bureau has been busy supporting a range of events but the largest to date was the European Pig Producers Conference, which generated £68,000 directly, and £250,000 indirectly to the local economy and attracted 200 delegates from all over the UK and Europe.

Future highlights include an event in West Norfolk, which chose Searles Holiday Park in Hunstanton as the venue for their 8 day, 400-delegate conference in October 2009. We look forward to welcoming the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) who chose Norwich as the venue for their second visit to us in 2011.

The Bureau also assisted with a visit from the VisitBritain marketing team who got better acquainted with business venues in the county as well as a delegation from the national Transport Union investigating venues for their annual event in 2011.

For more information about the ‘Norwich and Norfolk Conference Bureau’, log on to www.conferencenorfolk.co.uk, or phone Ginny Edwards on 01603 638422.
