go ape
Norfolk is a huge adventure playground for all ages. Hear the roar of the engines and smell the burning rubber as you watch the exhilarating motor sports at Snetterton Race Track. Or dress up in your finest, place a bet, and feel the buzz of a different kind of horsepower at one our friendly days at Fakenham or Yarmouth. And remember to pack your very best cheering voice to watch a match at Norwich City Football Club, where Delia’s Canary Catering will help keep your strength up!

But if you don’t fancy spectating and prefer to get stuck in yourself, then don’t let us hold you back. Norfolk can challenge you on land, in the air or on the water!

Put some power behind your pecs for windsurfing, sailing, rowing, canoeing or jet skiing. There’s nothing like getting wet to get you going! Or relish a relaxing afternoon bobbing along the peaceful waterways of the Fens or Norfolk Broads and enjoying Norfolk’s wide open landscapes. Or perhaps you fancy a spot of fishing?

To get a totally new perspective on things, get up in the clouds. Here in Norfolk, you can learn to fly, enjoy a tranquil champagne balloon trip, have a go at gliding, hang-gliding, parachuting, or even skydiving! Now that would be something to tell people back home about!

By land of course you are spoilt for choice. Pull on your walking boots and trek for miles – we can boast a National Trail and several long distance paths as well as shorter circular walks around Norfolk’s villages and countryside. Or try cycling or riding through our narrow country lanes and peaceful byways. Or how about a round of golf?

If you like your leisure indoors, try karting and even dry-slope skiing! That’s not to mention all the leisure centres and sports villages, swimming pools and hotel complexes we can offer. Norfolk is also home to East Anglia’s biggest swimming and sports centre – the new UEA Sportspark at Norwich with a massive indoor climbing wall and the Bernard Matthews Olympic pool – one of only 10 Olympic size pools in the country.

The trendy set will love the skateboarding, BMX and inline skating at Great Yarmouth’s 14,0000 square feet warehouse with ultra smooth concrete floor. And all ages will have fun ten-pin bowling. But only the really brave will tackle the Go Ape aerial assault course set high in the forest with rope bridges, trapezes and death slides…brilliant, but not for the faint-hearted!

And finally, if you want your whole holiday in Norfolk to be activity based so you can learn a new skill or take part in a new challenge, try a conservation break or perhaps an adventure holiday at the Outdoor Centre near Sheringham on the north Norfolk coast. Set in acres of grass and woodland with activities such as archery, all-terrain bikes, assault courses, air rifles and orienteering you’re bound to find something to keep you busy.

Norfolk is the perfect choice for an action packed break.
