Heritage/Visitor Centre - Sea Palling

Description
Waxham Great Barn is the longest barn in the country. Set in the wonderful countryside in North-East Norfolk's area of outstanding natural beauty, right next to the unspoilt splendour of Waxham beach.

Built in the 1580s the barn has survived over 400 years of storms and sea floods. Carefully restored by master craftsmen the barn remains virtually unchanged since Tudor times. An audio tour, and a lively exhibition bring the barn to life. An interactive area for children allows them a hands on experience.

Alongside the barn, in a sympathetically converted cow shed, is the Tea Lounge cafe, with a wall of glass overlooking the huge south facing courtyard, and sweet chestnut beams overhead. The cafe provides a marvellous setting to enjoy homemade food from the finest locally sourced ingredients.
