There are some fantastic places that the whole family will enjoy with activities that cater for everybody. Fritton Lake is excellent value and is certainly a full day out. Explore the lake in either a rowing boat or pedaloe and admire the beautiful surrounding woodland from the water. There is also 9 hole golf course, an adventure playground and pony rides. If you like ponies and other animals take a trip to Pettitts Animal Adventure Park. Meet Jet and Pinky, the Pettitts Pigs, along with many other animals and birds including miniature donkeys, racoons, reindeer, parrots and their very own snowy owl, Hedwig! And it’s not just the animals that everyone will love - take a ride on the miniature railway, climb aboard the pirate ship and then explore Robin Hood’s Adventure playground. Snettisham Park, set in the glorious countryside in West Norfolk, has a fantastic deer safari and a farmyard where children can bottle feed the tiny, adorable newborns. For a massive adventure visit the Dinosaur Adventure Park and search for the awesome creatures that roamed the land millions of years ago. If after all that rushing around you need a rest then let the circus entertain you at The Hippodrome in Great Yarmouth. With daring trapeze acts that will take your breath away, hilarious clowns and the fantastic water spectacular, this is a great way to keep everyone amused for an afternoon. |
| Rides Galore | Whether you’re looking for fun rides to enjoy with your little ones or big rides for that adrenalin rush, Norfolk has some fantastic places where you can let yourself go. On the seafront at Great Yarmouth find the Pleasure Beach with its great range of rides. With new, exciting rides for those who are always searching for something daring to try to classics such as the 1933 wooden rollercoaster and dodgems of course! There are also gentle rides for children, a log flume – perfect for cooling down on a hot day, a gorgeous carousel and mini golf courses. Another great place to visit is Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park for an all day adventure. Thrill seekers will be treated to some spectacular rides including, new for 2007, the 120 feet tall Wipeout rollercoaster while families can hop onto the smaller rides together and then round off the day watching the sea lion show – fantastic! |
| Swing through the Air | If you’ve got plenty of energy then visit one of Norfolk’s outdoor adventure centres for an unforgettable day out. Extreeme Adventure offers the chance for visitors to explore some of the most beautiful woodland in Norfolk – from heights of 20 or 40 feet – depending on how brave you’re feeling! Swinging platforms, tight ropes and a zip wire will get your adrenalin pumping. But if you’d prefer to stay on the ground there is a lovely woodland walk and refreshments available in the café. For some spectacular views of the coast visit Hilltop Outdoor Centre, less than 2 miles from Sheringham. Surrounded by over 25 acres of gentle countryside and perfect for families, visitors can take part in some fun activities including archery, orienteering and all terrain biking on one of their adventure days. There are also high and low rope courses plus an assault course. |
