The Norfolk countryside is a delightful mix of golden beaches backing onto remote dunes and marshes, historic heathland and grassland offering shelter to numerous birds and animals, vast forests overshadowing woodland walks and the beautiful waterways of the Norfolk Broads.

There are lots of places to walk, cycle and horse-ride in Norfolk. You can explore quiet villages and country roads or follow one of the many trails and bridlepaths.

Throughout the county you'll find places to hire bikes and boats so that you get even closer to nature and experience the Norfolk countryside from a new perspective.

If you enjoy bird-watching or simply love walking in the countryside then visit one of Norfolk's nature reserves. The RSPB and Norfolk Wildlife Trust can provide information on trails and walking routes. Whether your idea of fun is a gentle stroll on a sunny afternoon or you prefer a more challenging hike, there will always be something in the Norfolk countryside to suprise you.
