Get exploring during your day out in Norfolk! Visit the Dinosaur Adventure Park, just outside Norwich, where you can track down prehistoric monsters and take the dinosaur trail around the woodland. A fun day out for all the family, you can also dig for fossils, have some friendly competition at Jurassic Putt and look out for the graceful deer in the Deer Park. For some more scares and possibly screams, visit one of the county’s theme parks. Pleasurewood Hills has some terrific rides that teenagers will love while there are also gentler rides for the smaller ones. If you’re heading to the coast, you won’t be able to miss the Pleasure Beach at Great Yarmouth and with free entry you can see what you’re brave enough to ride before you buy tokens. |
| Fun Time! | If it’s just good fun you’re looking for then Norfolk has plenty of this on offer. A visit to the Playbarn is perfect for little ones. With activities both indoor and out, this is a great place come rain or shine. Inside they can jump, bounce and climb round the soft play area, and pretend they’re at the seaside at Beach Barn. Outside they can meet the farm animals, take a tractor ride and tackle the children’s maze. All in all there will be plenty to keep them occupied for hours! Another great place for children is Wroxham Barns, where they can visit Junior Farm to meet many special farm animals and cuddly friends. With hands on activities such as egg collecting it will be a fantastic experience for them. Wroxham Barns also has a funfair and a lovely selection of arts and crafts shops. For some more indoor fun try Funtime Factory with its Mega Ball Pit and huge bouncy castles. Perfect for children aged 4 to 12. |
| New Times! | For something really different, visit the Ecotech Centre, near Swaffham. Take the 300 steps to the top of the tower for some fantastic views across the Norfolk countryside and discover exactly how wind power works. There is also a café for a little rest after all that exercise, a shop and gardens. For a really special way to see the Norfolk coastline, you can try horse riding at the West Runton Riding Stables. Lessons are offered for all abilities and it’s something the whole family can enjoy. The stables can be found at the Norfolk Shire Horse Centre, a great place where you can see magnificent breeds of horse and watch the Norfolk Shire horses work the land in one of the daily demonstrations. Another of Norfolk’s many treats has to be the Norwich Puppet Theatre. Children can get creative at one of their workshops making all sorts of puppets, then watch the puppeteers in action at one of the shows such as Snow White. A truly magical experience. |
