Unique Broads and traditional seaside

Fairhaven Woodland and Water GardenFairhaven Woodland and Water Garden.

Start at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden in the Norfolk Broads, Britain's Magical Waterlands. Set in 130 acres of ancient woodland with over 3.5 miles of paths, there is also a tearoom, gift shop, bird hide, children's nature trail and plant sales area. Fairhaven welcomes group visits.

There's a programme of events all year round, but visit in Spring to see the UK's finest collection of Candelabra Primulas as well as bluebells, camellia's and wood anemones. Summer brings Hygrangeas, Philadelphus and many wild flowers.

Migrant birds and other wildlife come to the garden in the autumn, and there are many varieties of fungi and toadstools. Winter walks are great for spotting Kingfishers, deer and otters. Arrive at 10am for an introduction talk, and enjoy a cream tea or lunch before leaving at 12.45pm to head for Wroxham and a Broads Tours trip on the water from 1pm to 2.30pm. Then it's a short coach drive to the Bure Valley Railway for a steam train trip.

Book into The Grove Hotel or Cliftonville Hotel in Cromer for an early dinner before enjoying the evening variety show at the Pavilion Theatre on Cromer Pier, the last end-of-pier show in Europe.
