Certain sections of this site request personal details that we would like to retain on a database so that we can keep in touch with you about Norfolk in the future.

Norfolk County Council as administering partner of Norfolk Tourism is its data controller and is registered as a data user and computer bureau under the Data Protection Act 1998.

- ask for a copy of the information we hold on you (for which we may make a small charge);

What information do we collect?

This site does not automatically capture or store personal data from visitors to the site, other than to log the user's IP address and session information such as the duration of the visit to the site and the nature of the browser used. This information is used only for administration of the site system and in the compilation of statistics used by Norfolk Tourism to assess the use of the site.

We collect information from visitors to the Visit Norfolk website in three ways:

2. Feedback via an online form

3. Feedback via an optional online survey

Norfolk County Council is serious about guarding the security of your personal data and the details of any transactions you make, and uses leading technologies and encryption software to safeguard your data. We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, a standard supported by major internet browsers. All of your personal and payment card details are protected using 128 bit encryption when transmitted over the internet.

Our online credit and debit card processing is undertaken by HSBC.

 

Site usage information - Google Analytics

Google Analytics allows us to record visitors' use of the site. We use this information to make changes to the layout of the site and to the information on the site, based on the way that visitors move around it. Google Analytics does not store any personal information or information about which other sites you have visited. Google Analytics keeps the site usage data for two years.


What happens when I click on a link to another site?

The VisitNorfolk website contains links to other websites. This privacy policy applies only to our site, so you should always take care when you are moving to another site and read the privacy statement of any site, which collects personal information. Norfolk Tourism accepts no responsibility or liability for these sites.

We do not pass on any personal information you have given us to any other site, except in the case of online payments where we transfer your details to HSBC our online payments partner and you enter your credit or debit card details on their secure website.
