The pretty seaside town of Sheringham is situated on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. A must for the whole family is a trip on the North Norfolk Railway (The Poppy Line), a steam train that journeys through the delightful North Norfolk countryside. Leaving from Sheringham, the train takes in the picturesque landscape of Sheringham Park and Kelling Heath before arriving at Holt, a historic market town with many unique gifts shops and tea rooms serving delicious cream teas.
Just two miles south of Sheringham is the stunning Sheringham Park. Owned by the National Trust, it is a great place for the whole family with acres of woodland to explore either on foot or on bike, magnificent views of the coast from the viewing towers and displays of rhododendrons and azaleas in May and June. There are also refreshments available at the café.
An enchanting world of beautiful gardens, meadows and water, Priory Maze and Gardens provides a calming retreat away from the towns. Keep an eye out for the many species of birds, insects and small mammals that make their home here. Children will love the traditional hedge maze while there is a plant centre for keen gardeners.

As you'd expect from an old fishing village, Sheringham is awash with stalls selling fresh local catch, from crabs, through to cockles and whelks, to jellied eels. Have a bite to eat on the seafront, enjoy a meal at an award-winning fish & chip establishment or take an evening meal at one of the many restaurants serving a variety of cuisines.

Sheringham Little Theatre is a gem of a find in this seaside resort, and a must for visitors and residents alike. From dark dramas to traditional seaside summer rep shows, the latest art-house films to blockbusters, the theatre provides entertainment for all. Sheringham Park is often host to outdoor theatre events if you're partial to a picnic with the Bard; and each July/August the town hosts its annual Sheringham Carnival throughout the streets.
The town teams up with friendly rivals Cromer each May for the Cromer and Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival, and invites you to nip up to North Norfolk and celebrate a cornucopia of crustacea! The festival celebrates each town's iconic food fayre and is packed full of art, film, music, comedy and children's events, as well as the Crustacea Crawl - a trail of giant lobster and crab sculptures around the two towns.
