The park's fabulous and historic flint barn is part of the network of Broads Information Centres. Situated on the River Yare, it has information and displays about Whitlingham and the Broads. Enquiry service. Bookings for accommodation and Broads Authority boat trips. Books, maps, guides, postcards and gifts to buy. Short visit boat licences. The Barn Cafe.
Take a guided trip on the solar boat Ra to experience the watery wildlife at Whitlingham Country Park. Surrounded by green banks and woodlands, it's hard to believe how close you are to the city. Ra is fully accessible to wheelchair users.
Whitlingham visitor centre is open all year; opening hours from 1st April (or from Easter if that is earlier) to 31st October, 10am - 4pm; 1st November - 31st March (or Easter if earlier), 11am-4pm (except Christmas and New Year). Opening hours are extended to 5pm in July/August Sept for the duration of the local school summer holiday.
By Road: Take the A146 towards Norwich, turn right at the ring road, then turn right at the roundabout towards Trowse. Shortly afterwards turn left down Whitlingham Lane. All car parking fees are collected on behalf of the Whitlingham Charitable Trust to pay for the maintenance of the country park.
