Details

North Wootton village is immediately adjacent to King’s Lynn. Former marshland, drained several centuries ago, links the village to the coast and the North Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village is a mixture of traditional carrstone houses and newer developments. The old part is located around the small village green consisting of a few houses, an old schoolhouse and a former post office. The village, has a shop, two public houses, The Red Cat Hotel and The House on The Green, a church, All Saints, and a large park shared with South Wootton which is host to the annual Wootton Picnic in the Park, including a free music festival. The village is also home to the west Norfolk Rugby Club and is also very close to King’s Lynn golf club.

With the arrival of the railway, a station (now disused) was built in the west of the village towards the marsh. The railway linked King’s Lynn with Hunstanton and would have been familiar to the Royal family being less than 3 miles away across the River Babingley from Wolferton station which served the nearby Sandringham Estate.

Close to historic Castle Rising and the many attractions of King’s Lynn, North Wootton is also well located for visiting the coast.
