St Benet's Abbey

St Benet's Abbey

FREE Guided Tours take place from the beginning of May until the end of September each Wednesday at 2:00pm, and each Saturday and Sunday at 3:00pm. Meet your volunteer guide in front of the Gatehouse at the head of the path from the river.

When possible, try to arrive as the monks, pilgrims and traders of old would have done, by boat or on foot.

There is a limited mobile phone signal at St Benet's and the nearest public toilets are a 30 minute walk away, at Ludham Bridge. The closest cafes, pubs and shops are there, or in Ludham or Horning.

The area between the gatehouse, the moorings and the car park is fully accessible, elsewhere the ground is uneven. The Abbey is part of a working farm and livestock may be on site. Dogs should be kept on a lead. Before setting off think about:
• Suitable footwear and clothing
• Something to drink and a snack
• A local map and perhaps binoculars

Access: Uneven ground

Duration: 45 Minutes
