The Woad Centre is a farm diversification project of dye production from plants. Ian and Bernadette Howard grow woad and weld; process them; and dye items in house for retail from their onsite shop and online. Open to the public three days a week, they offer a free exhibition and shop.The Woad Centre is open from Easter to Christmas, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
The environment : The pigment production has many environmental benefits, being a natural source that does not contain the harmful chemical ingredient used in synthetic indigo.
